Leather Italia is a relatively young company, founded in 1996 by Michael Campbell, an expert in leather tanning processes who first became involved in the furniture industry by conducting national seminars on leather for furniture retailers. Since entering the manufacturing business in 1996, Leather Italia USA has grown into a nationally recognized brand, known for fine quality leather upholstery.

Although manufactured in China, Leather Italia upholstery is produced to the highest standards. Frames are of kiln dried hardwoods and hardwood plywoods, with mortised joints, glued, screwed & blocked. Leathers in the Santaramo Collection (most of what we are selling) are 100% Full Top Grain Leather, full analine died, on all touch and non-touch areas of the furniture. The finish on these leathers is exceptional, ranging from meaty to silky (sorry! these are our terms!) depending on the product group. There is no matching vinyl used, EVER, on any Leather Italia sofa. (Presidential Collection uses split grain hides on the back and sides.) Suspension is pirelli webbing, a European suspension system widely utilized in premium automotive manufacturing. Memory foam is utilized in all Leather Italia seat cushions. The Embassy Collection adds 50/50 Feather Down/Fiber Blend to seat & back cusions.

In our experience over the past 18 months selling this product line, the quality and consistency of Leather Italia product has proven to be extremely high. Although Leather Italia does accept custom orders, the process takes a really long time. Realllllllly Longggggg! As such, we are primarily selling Leather Italia products as stocked in their North Carolina warehouse (1 leather, 1 color per group). Although there have been some vagaries in stock levels in NC, generally speaking, our Leather Italia orders arrive fast (2 weeks avg), and we will always confirm availability prior to ordering. Other than that, from time to time, we have had some clearance specials from Leather Italia that border on ridiculous! Sorry, we're not going to tell you about some of these, because we'll probably never see the likes of them again. But check out the specials that we're running presently on the Jensen and Aspen sofas in our showroom! Somebody better grab these fast, because you're not going to get them at these prices again!
